This is a procedure about making the painting 'The Harpist'.
Perhaps some part is not detailed.
The file is really long.
I hope my procedure is helpful.
Please feel free to ask questions about this procedure.

Gorgeous work!

So, I've gotta ask - how many layers do you normally use for each aspect of the painting? (hair, skin, clothing, etc) Also, when do you abandon the original sketch drawing as you work?

I'm sorry to ask, but at any point do you end up getting rid of the line art layer? Because the final picture doesn't look like you have any it is very stunning.

Wow, nice tutorial!! Just one question, you said that you merge the two sketch layers right? But when you do the details do you colour on separate layers? Ex: you have a skin layer to do the details on skin and hair layer to do details on skin?or do you just use the single layer?

Thank you for the procedure!!
Just one question... Does coloring 3 go on a new layer above the sketch layer?

May I ask how long the overall process took you?

This is a really fantastic and helpful tutorial. I especially liked that you conveyed to us your whole process, including your search for references, which I find is lacking in many other tutorials.
